Lesson
About Kandinsky
.
Wassily Kandinsky was a Russian artist known as a pioneer of abstract art! He created his Squares with Concentric Circles as a color study. As you paint, notice how the colors blend together as they mix while still wet!
Instructions:
Step 2: Draw a heart in each square. Again, use a pencil first and then go over your pencil lines with a black crayon or Sharpie.
Step 3: Choose a color to start with. Wake up the paint with water to create a small pool of paint. Paint inside each heart with thick lines following the same shape as the heart until you get to the center using a different color for each line. I use three different colors inside of each heart. Watch how the colors start to blend together! Next, fill in the background of the square with a contrasting color.
Step 4: Repeat for each square using a new combination of colors!
Enjoy your beautiful Kandinsky inspired artwork!
